BOTOK AD KIANGAN
June 27-29, 2008
Bayninan, Nagacadan
Kiangan, Ifugao
Botok, or pfoto’ refers to the harvest stage of the rice cycle. Unlike the hybrid varieties, the Ifugao tinawon is harvested by individual panicles. The panicles are then bundled in measured sizes called botok. The harvesters chant hudhud, which is an ifugao epic of love, adventure, heroism and valor.
During the Botok Tour, visitors try their hands in the use of gamulang, a traditional implement in harvesting the Ifugao rice.
